The expressions on these gentleman and lady dogs are priceless. I would dare say the woman is in charge as she looks a little grouchy and he looks a little henpecked. It''s interesting how the transition from using dogs and cats simply as work animals to pets inspired them to become beloved human like characters. To know them is to love them.

This antique set of Victorian Staffordshire statues features anthropomorphic dogs dressed as a lady and gentleman. The intricate porcelain details and multicolor palette capture the essence of the Victorian era. Each statue weighs 2 lb and measures11.5 to 12"" These are rare and date to around the 1920s..

They do not have damage per se but they are very crazed which I think adds to their vintage charm.
