Antique WW1 US ENG DEPT pocket compass 1918. The watch is dated 1918, while the patent date is 1917. These pocket compasses are usually found in sketching or map cases of the soldier. The bottom of the compass that helps open and close the compass seems to be damaged, however, it can still open and close. According to the lady whom I got this from, she said that this compass had been on a ship.
